The "Goddess of Sincerity" is located inside of the prestigious department store Mitsukoshi in the Nihonbashi district next to the Nihonbashi bridge. The goddess 'Magokoro" was built by Mr. Gengen Sato over a period of 10 years and dominates the main entrance standing 35 feet tall.

The goddess was built from 500 year old Japanese cypress 'Hinoki" taken from the woods surrounding the Kibune Shrine in Kyoto. The statue is painted with clay pigments and decorated with gold and platinum metal. The central figure represents the cloud-swathed Goddess of Sincerity descending towards the earth, accompanied by a phoenix bearing an offering for her tray of heavenly flowers.
