  Going East ... 07.Nov.2007
Flipper! I was ready to update my website with my latest creation Flipper when I ran out of time. I was rushing around like crazy packing my life into small boxes, but I could not find the time to finish Flipper to the quality level I wanted.

So I decided to wait until I had access to a PC again to finish the game off, but that proved harder than I initially thought. With 2 months living out of a suitcase and staring at airport / hotel floors I simply had to dream of puzzles instead.
Eventually after what seemed a lifetime I finally got to borrow a laptop from a friend and get to finish what I started back in August. While I was waiting I had plenty of time to sketch out the final puzzles I wanted to include and hopefully the extra time proved worthwhile.

The final version does not include any sound or special effects just a simple interface with minimal distractions. The game consists of 30 levels, 7 tutorials and a built-in editor which hopefully should be enough to keep everyone interested for a while!

Well I finally made it to Hungary and settled into Budapest as my new home. Budapest has such a vibrant feeling and a very unique style which does not look like the rest of Europe. A place I would highly recommend visiting if you have the time.

  What The Flip! 21.Aug.2007
Flipper! Finally the game is finished!

I have had an awesome time creating this game and it was amazing to see what other people did with it. I have probably spent close to a month of my spare time working on this game and it still feels like I could add more!

I had a ton of cool ideas from different friends but I had to draw the line on features and simple finish the game, maybe next time.
If you played this game and want to let me know what you think of it, then contact me on the email address at the bottom of the page. If you create any level packs that you think are amazing, then please let me know.

Electric Knife A couple of years ago I created a map called Pyramid of the Magician, which had a lot of awkward brush shapes, everywhere. It had far too many crazy angles and I was not surprised at the time that no bot file was created for it.

Recently someone at Q3W found a way to get the mysterious -fixaas q3map2 parameter to work correctly. With a week of bashing my head against bot portal clusters and huge amounts of clipping, I finally found a way to create a bot file.
Goldrush After much pondering and ice creaming eating I finally finished off my thoughts on some professional map I was involved in. When you spend so much time on one single map, its hard not see every detail when wandering around it.

I love knowing how maps are constructed and especially what things changed during development. Seeing the various construction stages of a map is equally as enjoyable as seeing the final release.
Barracks Anyone who knows me would tell you about my rather crazy obsession with taking pictures of bricks and anything not involving people! Even before I got a digital camera I was taking large amounts of pictures involving architecture and smiling with delight when I got them developed.

Initially I spent a couple of weekend's looking around the Internet at various photo album layouts. I also tried different javascript systems to see if anything caught my eye.
Bricks Eventually I decided to create a simply html photo album layout instead so that the maximum amount of web browsers will be able to view the content easily.

I have a large amount of pictures stored on stacks of CD's that I want to publish on this site, but it will take me some time to set them all up into photo albums. It most likely will be a gradual process, so pop back every now and then!

  Site Live 16.Jun.2007
After weeks of staring at HTML code and wondering why my javascript's don't work, I finally got all my old content (that I wanted to) over to the new site. I promised myself years ago that I would re-design my site and each time I looked at it, realized it would be a crazy amount of work to do. After my previous web host re-arranging my website address again, I took the plunge and got my own domain. It seemed like a good time for a fresh new look as well.

I spent a long time looking at different web styles on the internet and finally settled on the web-blog style that seems to be everywhere at the moment. Clean menu designs, cross reference links down the side and high graphic use to make the site pleasing to the eye. Compared to my old site, this new layout is extremely freeform and should allow people to move around with ease.

Not all of my old content has been moved over to the new site. I wanted to try limit what I had on my site to stuff I liked the look of and feel good about. Even now some of my older stuff looks dated but hopefully when I get some more time I can replace the old with new.

With the basic's of the site setup and I can now spend some time setting up javascript's for a photo album system. The previous method I had was to manually code all the pages and I don't want to do that again. Once the system is in place I can spend more time taking pictures and not waste time on coding pages.

If you are wondering where all the quotes came from across the top most part of the website pages, they are from Lewis Carroll. It is amazing some of the stuff he came up with and his quotes seem to match my images perfectly.

  New Lick of Paint 1.Jun.2007
Site being rebuilt at the moment, bare with the chaos, it will soon be neat and tidy. Here is part of chapter 7 from "Through the Looking Glass", something to fill up the page while I think of something to say.

"There was a pause in the fight just then, and the Lion and the Unicorn sat down, panting, while the King called out `Ten minutes allowed for refreshments!' Haigha and Hatta set to work at once, carrying round trays of white and brown bread. Alice took a piece to taste, but it was very dry. `I don't think they'll fight any more to-day,' the King said to Hatta: `go and order the drums to begin.' And Hatta went bounding away like a grasshopper.

For a minute or two Alice stood silent, watching him. Suddenly she brightened up. `Look, look!' she cried, pointing eagerly. `There's the White Queen running across the country! She came flying out of the wood over yonder -- How fast those Queens can run!' `There's some enemy after her, no doubt,' the King said, without even looking round. `That wood's full of them.' `But aren't you going to run and help her?' Alice asked, very much surprised at his taking it so quietly. `No use, no use!' said the King. `She runs so fearfully quick. You might as well try to catch a Bandersnatch! But I'll make a memorandum about her, if you like -- She's a dear good creature,' he repeated softly to himself, as he opened his memorandum-book. `Do you spell "creature" with a double "e"?'

At this moment the Unicorn sauntered by them, with his hands in his pockets. `I had the best of it this time!' he said to the King, just glancing at him as he passed. `A little -- a little,' the King replied, rather nervously. `You shouldn't have run him through with your horn, you know.' `It didn't hurt him,' the Unicorn said carelessly, and he was going on, when his eye happened to fall upon Alice: he turned round instantly, and stood for some time looking at her with an air of the deepest disgust.

`What -- is -- this?' he said at last. `This is a child!' Haigha replied eagerly, coming in front of Alice to introduce her, and spreading out both his hands towards her in an Anglo-Saxon attitude. `We only found it to-day. It's as large as life, and twice as natural!' `I always thought they were fabulous monsters!' said the Unicorn. `Is it alive?' `It can talk,' said Haigha solemnly.

The Unicorn looked dreamily at Alice, and said `Talk, child.' Alice could not help her lips curling up into a smile as she began: `Do you know, I always thought Unicorns were fabulous monsters, too? I never saw one alive before!' `Well, now that we have seen each other,' said the Unicorn, `if you'll believe in me, I'll believe in you. Is that a bargain?' `Yes, if you like,' said Alice."
